Work starts on new development in Buckfast.

Press  Release

Work has started on 10 flats at Buckfast in Teignbridge, by South Devon Rural Housing Association (SDR) which will provide much needed accommodation for people with learning disabilities. Set in the Dartmoor National Park area and close to the historic Buckfast Abbey, the scheme will provide independent living for people leaving residential care. The project is supported by funding from the Homes and Communities Agency and Teignbridge District Council which is believed to be the only one in the South West funded this way. SDR are working closely with Camphill Devon Community to enable adults with a learning disability to have the opportunity of living independently for the first time.
SDR Chief Executive Steven Prime said ‘This project represents several years worth of work and planning, demonstrating our commitment to local communities. We are delighted to see this much needed accommodation finally underway.’
