Places for People and South Devon Rural announce merger plans
Places for People and South Devon Rural Housing Association (SDR) have announced that they are in merger discussions which, if successful, would enable greater investment in affordable homes in South Devon.
It IS possible to keep your home warm and dry on a tight budget
Aware of the strain that rising energy costs are putting on everyone’s domestic budgets, SDR has produced a leaflet containing guidance for our tenants on how to keep your home warm and dry without costing the earth.
Our leaflet has been posted to all tenants in time for the worst of the winter weather and it’s also available HERE.
Just click on the link or go to the For Tenants tab, where you will also find a link to our winter energy guidance.
There’s still time to take our survey - and you could win that £25 Amazon voucher!
We’re giving SDR tenants a further chance to let us know how their housing provider is doing with a short survey form that’s in line with Government guidance.
You’ll be helping us to improve our service to you and one respondent will end up winning a £25 Amazon voucher when their name is drawn out of a hat shortly before Christmas.
Life or death: The need to recognise and report faulty fire doors
As a responsible landlord, owning and managing hundreds of properties, many with multiple rooms and numerous occupants, SDR takes very seriously the need to keep its tenants safe.
Care home advert at Totnes rail station is just the ticket!
Grabbing the attention of passengers as they enter and leave Totnes Railway Station for the next 12 months is this colourful advert for our Forder Lane House Care Home, which currently has vacancies.
The advert is part of a marketing campaign launched earlier this year, aimed at drawing the attention of people living within the catchment area of the Dartington care home to the facilities offered by this homely place, which provides a welcoming environment for people as they reach old age.
Tell us how we're doing and you could win a £25 Amazon voucher!

Care home manager Jo taking steps for dementia charity
Care home manager Jo Pammenter (pictured) walks a fair distance during her working day whilst ensuring all the residents receive the best possible attention. But it’s nothing compared with ‘Trek26’ – a walk she’ll be making in September as she and many others raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society’s ‘United Against Dementia’ campaign.
GOD SAVE THE KING! CARE HOME CORONATION PARTY
Residents at our Forder Lane House care home enjoyed a Coronation celebration tea to mark the crowning of King Charles III on 6 May, watching the ceremony on TV. Many of them remember the Coronation of HRH Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. Staff at the care home also entered into the spirit of the occasion.
